Homemade Muesli

Below is my much loved homemade muesli recipe. This recipe is perfect for preggy mommies who are wanting to get in a full nutritional meal but who can’t stomach much food due to nausea and other pregnancy symptoms.

It’s such a basic recipe, you can add almost anything else to it.

Whole almonds or crushed almonds (it goes further)

Sunflower seeds

Pumpkin seeds

Flax seeds

Chia seeds

Coconut flakes

Dried cranberries

That’s it!

You can also add Macadamia nuts if you want.

Almonds are a great source of protein. When I was pregnant I couldn’t stomach meat at all. And I’m not a huge egg fan. So I ate LOTS of chicken and Almonds were my go to snack.

Chia seeds are superfoods, flax seeds and sunflower seeds are a good source of healthy fats such as Omega 3 – exactly what your body needs to help with your baby’s growth. You can also add in some rolled oats which are also highly nutritional.

Pair this muesli with some full cream Greek yoghurt, some honey, almond butter and some sliced banana or some fresh strawberries or blueberries and it’s a win win for the whole family!

Best of all, you can chuck this all in a blender, add some coconut milk/cream and you’re in for a delicious smoothie.

Yum yum yum!
